Welcome Program: Admission
Discovery Place offers our Welcome Program Admission* to EBT or WIC card holders residing in North and South Carolina to broaden access to our educational offerings.
For $3 per person, we invite you and up to 5 additional guests to experience our museums. Tickets are available for pre-purchase online or can be purchased when you arrive.
Your Welcome tickets are processed just like other admission tickets and your experience visiting the museum will be the same as other visitors.
Welcome participants may also purchase discounted parking for $8 per vehicle.
*Welcome tickets are available to individuals with current and active WIC or EBT benefits from North Carolina or South Carolina. To enter using Welcome tickets, you must show a valid ID with corresponding proof of current WIC or EBT benefits.
Welcome Program: Membership
Discovery Place is proud to offer our Welcome Program Membership, a special opportunity for North and South Carolina families who receive WIC or EBT benefits. This program makes our educational experiences more accessible to our community.
Family membership cost: $75 (discount automatically applies at checkout) Discounted parking is also available for $8 per vehicle.
To use your Welcome Program benefits, simply present:
a valid ID and proof of current WIC or EBT benefits from either North or South Carolina.
To Purchase:
Add a regular family membership to your cart then click “Proceed to Checkout.” Your Welcome Program discount will automatically apply.
ASTC Reciprocal Admission
The ASTC Passport Program for reciprocal admission applies to individuals who have an active valid membership at another museum which participates in the ASTC Passport Program.
ASTC reciprocal benefits apply only when visiting museums 90+ miles from your home and home museum. The program provides general admission to Discovery Place Science for two adults and up to four children 18 or younger living in your household.
Distance exclusions DO apply and we are required to follow ASTC rules in this regard. Per ASTC rules, members of the following museums are within 90 miles and not able to use reciprocal benefits: Catawba Science Center, Kaleideum, Greensboro Science Center, North Carolina Transportation Museum, Schiele Museum and Roper Mountain Science Center, Proof of active membership at a participating museum and proof of residency is required.
Military Discount
Thank you for your service! Active U.S. Military, veterans and their immediate family members will receive $2 off Museum admission at any Discovery Place Museum. To receive the Military discount, tickets must be purchased in-person on the date of your visit. Simply show your Military ID at the Admissions Desk.
Active members of the U.S. Military receive $20 off their Membership purchase.
Senior Discount
Guests age 60 or older will receive $2 off Museum admission at Discovery Place Science.
Senior discounts are not available at our Discovery Place Kids Museum locations.
Group Discount
Perfect for schools, camps, company outings, scout troops, seniors, family reunions, and more, groups of 15 or more receive discounts on general admission pricing.

Parking Discount for Visitors
The Discovery Place Science Parking Deck is at 220 West 6th Street, Charlotte, NC, 28202, on the corner of Church and 6th St. in Uptown Charlotte.
General Admission & IMAX tickets receive a 25% discount on parking in the Discovery Place Science Parking Deck!
Prepaid parking is not available online.
How It Works
1. Park your vehicle in the Discovery Place Science Parking Deck and save your parking receipt.
2. Stop by any Admissions Desk on Levels 1 & 3, and receive a 25% off sticker coupon attached to your receipt.
3. Upon exit, check out inside the Discovery Place Science Parking Deck and apply your discount.
Note: Members and Welcome visitors can still purchase $8 flat rate parking at the kiosks inside the Museum or at the Admissions Desk.
