Introducing Digital Membership Cards to streamline your experience

Discovery Place is excited to introduce Digital Membership Cards as a benefit of Membership! Please see answers to frequently asked questions below. Additional questions can be directed to or 704.372.6261 x354

How do I add the Membership card to my phone?
You will be able to access your Membership card in the eMembership Card app or your smartphone wallet. Follow these few, easy steps:

1. In your mobile app store, search for and download the “eMembership Card” app. Download from the Apple App Store here. Download from the Google Play Store here.

2. Open the app. Tap the magnifying glass in the top right corner and search for “Discovery Place.” Click on the Discovery Place icon.

3. Click “Find my Membership Cards,” then enter your phone number or Membership ID to locate your card. You can then add these cards to your smartphone wallet app or access it directly through the eMembership Card app.

4. When you arrive at Discovery Place Science, open the eMembership Card app and click “Show My Cards” or show the card in your smartphone wallet. Your Membership card will pop up on the screen with the barcode.

My family member is on this Membership. How can they receive the card?
If the family member is listed as the second adult on the Membership, they can download the eMembership Card app and follow the same procedures to locate their card. Children’s names will not be on digital cards, but the total number of children is listed.

I downloaded my card but I can’t find it.
Open the eMembership app and click “Show My Cards.” If it does not pop up on the screen screen, please contact the Membership department at 704.372.6261 x354 to help resolve the issue.

How will I use my digital Membership card?
The digital Membership card replaces your paper Membership card. Show your digital card at any of our Museums when you arrive. All Museum and Helix Members can use the app to access their Membership cards at partnering ASTC Reciprocal Museums.
You can also use the digital card to check on your Membership expiration date and to verify what adult names are listed.

Exciting new feature: Reserved tickets can be stored on the app and scanned at check-in upon arrival.
Will I still need to show my photo ID with my digital card when I check in at the Museum?
Yes, we will verify the name on your Membership card matches your photo ID.

Will my digital card update when I renew my Membership?
Yes! The digital card will automatically update when your Membership information changes. For example, your expiration date and Membership level will automatically update the next time you renew or upgrade. This means that you only have to download the card once!

How will my reciprocal benefits work when visiting other organizations?
When visiting other Museums, you can pull up the eMembership app, click “Show My Cards” and access your Membership card with the ASTC logo. The participating Museum will process your admission with the published benefits.

I am not sure I received my digital card. Can you send it again?
Yes! Please contact us at or 704.372.6261 x354 and we will resend the email. You may also want to check the junk/spam or unwanted folders of your email.

I don’t have a mobile phone, what can I do?
Please contact us at or 704.372.6261 x354 to request a printed Membership card.

My name is spelled wrong/Membership level is incorrect.
Please contact us at or 704.372.6261 x354 and we will update your card.

My second adult and my children aren’t listed on my card in the appHow do I get them on there?
