Kindergarten Summer Camps in Charlotte
Is your child ready for their first big summer adventure? At Discovery Place Science, our Kindergarten camps are designed specifically for rising Kindergarteners (typically ages 5 and 6). We know that for many little ones, this may be their first experience with a full-day camp. That’s why our programs focus on socialization, curiosity, and play-based learning in a warm, supportive environment.
Located in Uptown Charlotte, our camps introduce young scientists to the wonders of the world—from the bottom of the ocean to the stars above—without the pressure of a traditional classroom. It’s the perfect way to keep them active, engaged, and ready for the school year ahead!

Why Start Summer Camp in Kindergarten?
Building Social Skills
Our camps provide a structured yet flexible environment where 5 and 6-year-olds learn to share, collaborate on projects, and make new friends outside of their usual school or daycare circle.
Hands-On, Screen-Free Fun
We believe children learn best by doing. Instead of watching screens, our campers are touching fossils, mixing safe chemicals, and building towers. It’s active learning that feels just like play.
Exploring the Museum
Kindergarten campers don’t just stay in a room; they get special supervised visits to Discovery Place Science exhibits, the Aquarium, and the Rainforest, sparking a sense of wonder that lasts a lifetime.
