Fall 2025 Apprenticeships

This application is for RETURNING Apprentices looking to join our Fall 2025 Cohort.

Fall Cohort: October – April, Applications available in August
Summer Cohort: May – September, Applications available in March.

The STEM Corp Apprenticeship is a volunteer-based opportunity offered to students 14-18 years old. This program provides students with hands-on experience volunteering in a museum while working side by side with museum professionals. Students will engage with our guests through STEM based experiential programs, lab activities and a variety of programs and activities.

– Applications available until September 20 at 5:00 p.m.
– Late or incomplete applications will not be accepted, no exceptions.

Museum Operations Apprentice: Applicants must be 14-years-old by October 1. Will assist Operations Team with floor and exhibit support. Shift options are scheduled during museum operations.
 
·         Students will be required to serve 50 hours between October 2025 – April 2026.
 
·         New Apprentices are required to attend Orientation and training based on their service location. Returning Apprentices will be required to attend a Zoom meeting with the Youth Development Staff
 
·         It is the responsibility of the Applicant to schedule their hours/weeks or service in advance, Youth Development does not schedule volunteer shifts for student Apprentices.
 
Apprenticeships are available at Discovery Place Science, and Discovery Place Kids-Huntersville or Rockingham. Please note not all opportunities are available at all locations.
 
Orientation Dates:
DPS Orientation: September 20 from 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
DPKH Orientation: September 27 from 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
